Dragons GC came back to take the title at the annual NCGA Associate Club Four-Ball Net Championship. The Dragons GC squad, made up of teammates Chris Chong and Thomas Yee, shot a final round 7-under 64 at Quail Lodge Resort to come in at 128, defeating runner-up Old Benicia GC by one.
Old Benicia GC, the first round leader after a 60 at Poppy Hills on Monday, shot a 69 to finish second. Three teams—Golf Mafia GC, Chevron GC of San Ramon and San Lorenzo GC—all finished at 130. Mafia GC won third place following a card-off.
"It was all Chris, I was just dead weight," Tom said yesterday after the round. "Chris' back hurts, it's good thing that I'm skinny!"
With their championship run, Tom and Chris will pick up 250 Dragon Cup points each. Tom will vault to the top of the Dragon Cup points list, with an estimated 644 points, ahead of Mike Gui (475) and Mike Lum (434). Chris Chong will reach 402 points and get back into contention of the Dragon Cup race as well.
The Club's preeminent events, Lake Merced and the Weekender, meanwhile, are right aroudn the corner. Registration for both will be closing in ONE WEEK, on June 28. Please go to dragonsgolfclub.org to enter both, and don't forget to reserve your accommodations with Chris Wong.
Congratulations to Chris and Tom! Way to represent!
